Puolustusvoimain komentaja, kenraali Ari Puheloinen nosti Maanpuolustuskurssin avajaisissa tietoverkkojen kautta tehtävät hyökkäykset Suomen olennaiseksi uhkakuvaksi. Puheloinen näyttää näin jatkavan perinteistä armeijan uhkakuva-ajattelua, jossa varaudutaan kaikkeen mahdolliseen.
